ARtist Statement
Jacqueline Huskisson is an interdisciplinary artist interested in researching and documenting the human experience. Huskisson explores the human forms’ relation to the universe through her artistic process and creation. They are interested lately in capturing a moment in time; how our personal interactions and experiences can transcend mortality.
Biography
Jacqueline holds a B.F.A in Print Media from the Alberta University for the Arts and an M.F.A in Interdisciplinary Studies from the Belfast School of Art. She has recently had solo exhibitions at Main Space Gallery (Alberta Printmakers, Calgary), and Poolside Gallery (VideoPool, Winnipeg). She has also been doing various projects, installations, residencies and performances around Canada, Northern Ireland and Finland. She is the recipient of various local and national grants and was the inaugural receipt of the Scott Leroux Media Arts Exploration Fund. She is currently on VideoPool’s Media Art Distribution list.
She is currently the administrator for Elephant Artist Relief Society and recently she has become the Gallery Chair for the Main Space Gallery in Alberta Printmakers. Current projects include the residency with KIAC (Dawson City, Yukon) and has an upcoming residency with Piltonkueche (Leipzig, Germany).
